To try and maximise my chance of beauty resolution success I'm going to try and start one of the following resolutions at a time over the next few weeks and I'll track my progess:
1. - Drink More Water and Less diet Coke
I've read this on at least two other blogs and I feel a lot less alone knowing I'm not the only one trying to kick this habit. My 2009 was pretty stressful and I haven't really taken very good care of myself from the inside out. I feel like my skin is lacklustre so fingers crossed more hydration will equal a glowing complexion.
2. - Body Brushing
I'm really dreading this one. I've had a body brush for ages, but its just not nice to do. Its scratchy, its ouchy. I don't like it. But, I feel like I need to do more to boost my circulation. I'm not about to start having cold showers but I'm going to try a bit of lymphatic drainage (doesn't that sound sexy?).
3. - Moisturising
The drinking more water deals with the internal hydration bit but I need to do more by way of moisturising from the outside. In the morning I always mosturise my face but at night I'm very lazy. I'm also totally rubbish at moisturising my body EVER. I've got lots of body lotion kicking about and I hardly use it. That will change.
4. - Find my Signature Scent and Makeup Look
I've just recently had a change of role at work and I really feel like I need to use that opportunity to change more than just the work I do. I want to have a go-to perfume and a go-to face for work. I know that probably sounds like it should be easy but I just can't find the perfect ones. this year I'll be questing properly.
5. - Use my Epilator
Another not so nice one. In November I bought one of the Braun Waterproof Epilators. I've used it about twice since and just carried on with my razor. Total waste of money. Must fix.
I think thats about it for now. If you have any advice for me on these I'd be really grateful to hear from you, I think I'm going to need all the support I can get!

Hi Beth...glad you got this fixed. One line that I like, but had not used in several years is Origins. It's an Estee Lauder line and I don't know if you can get in the UK or not. It's all natural and uses lots of herbs, plants and minerals. Anyhow, they have a new skin care line designed to reduce redness which is a problem of late. The line is by a man named Dr. Andrew Weil. Anyhow, I had a complete demonstration today really liked it. Of course, I bought way too much...5 skin care products and some makeup as well including a mineral/powder base (with SPF 15). My skin is lots older than yours, but if you see the Origins products, give a look. The ginger scented lotions are heavenly.
@ HIF - Hello! Welcome to the newest incarnation of the blog.
We can get Origins goodies over here, but I've never tried anything other than the Peace of Mind stress relief range.
I'll definitely check them out!
I would definitely recommend cutting out the soda. Everytime I've started drinking soda again I gain weight. It's either because the "sugar" in diet sodas doesn't satisfy your bodies need for sugar so you eat more sugary foods or that the "sugar" just doesn't digest (like high fructose corn syrup) so your body immediately turns it to fat. And it leeches your bones of calcium and body of water. Either way, it's just not good.
I think finding the signature scent/make-up could be difficult (the others seem to be just a question of motivation, but that requires both motivation and actually finding something suitable). I recently got Donna Karen's Black Cashmere perfume and have been using Korres products, both of which have a musky, woodsy, spicy scent. I think the best thing is to try out a lot of perfume/lotion/body scrub and find what appeals to you (and what smells best on your skin, with your natural scent). Different strokes for different folks and all that.
Anyway, thanks for following my blog! I hope your New Years resolutions go well, I should probably make some myself- but I'm too lazy ha!
